DECAY, WIRLESS LIGHT (ABANDONES FUTURE 2.0)
2024
Decay is an installation by Thomas Brodersen and Gustav Østerheden that is made up of five individual sculptures, each consisting of a rigid outer wooden structure engaging a degenerating synthetic core. They stand to represent and resemble an inner decay of the elemental content within our structural, cultural and societal framework. This, both in a literal constructional context leaving hollow shells from modern day commercial building practice, as well as on a general societal note. Soundscape by Sophia Sagaradze.
The installation Wireless light, consists of a teslacoil and an unplugged lightbulb. The Teslacoil was invented and believed by Nicola Tesla to be the way to light up our world. He envisioned a world of no cables not just as a practical mean, but also as a more aestic sustainable future.
Abandoned Future is an annual exhibition project featuring interactive sound, light, and video art. Artists are invited to reflect on our current era, the choices we make, their impact on our environment, and the hidden possibilities in neglected areas. This interdisciplinary project aims to create a profound and meaningful experience for the audience.
