MUTE SERVANT

2024

This experimental mute servant is a study in material reuse, craftsmanship, and sculptural expression. Built entirely from leftover materials, the wooden block—sourced from Aros Savværk på Djursland—is a remnant from the production of outdoor benches for Aarhus School of Architecture, while the iron pipe was salvaged from a container.

At its core, the project explores artistically the refined interplay of hard and soft materials, balancing function with sculptural intention. As the sculpture took shape it originally became envisioned for a fitting room allowing for sitting and hanging purposes. The design is now aquired by Raasted Store in Aarhus where it offers a dual role: as a hanging display for clothes and a podium for shoes.
