THE FRUIT PLATTER
2025
The Fruit Platter emerged from an ongoing exploration of sculptural form and material that began in 2021, when Gustav Østerheden and I acquired a full pallet of plaster blocks. The initial purpose was to support a summer workshop we organized in collaboration with Nikoline Jørgensen, which laid the foundation for a deeper engagement with plaster as a medium.
Since then, I have continued to work with plaster through a hands-on, intuitive process—focusing particularly on bodily forms and the fundamental principles of carving. The nature of this material demands both physical effort and patience, often requiring a personal motivation or emotional connection to truly commit to the work.
The Fruit Platter was created as a birthday gift for my partner, Sara. It is both a gesture of love and a continuation of my study into how form, weight, and surface can evoke intimacy and presence.
