Fra Side til Anden (English: From page to another) is an exploration of natural or industrialized textures imbedded in our materialbank. The idea is to form a library of books in different materials spanding from organic materials to also include non organic materials. Each book will showcase its texture physically on one side and represented graphically on the other side. Every book will get a desired format based on the strength and properties of the material, and the binding of the books will be an exploration of different mechanical joining possibilities.
The first book is made of oak, and has been joined with a piece of thick raw linen fabric reinforced in the joint by a square brassrod. The texture of the wood has been brought forward by burning the wood, and the charcoal of the surface is what has created the graphical texture print on the other side.
